Episode 3: Inside a progression raid, Serenity hangs on, and Concordance of the Legionfall changes.
This is the third episode of the The Raider's Confessional. This week Ryan is joined by his two co-hosts, Cole and Dan. This week the guys talk about what they do when they are inside of a progression raid, both on the individual level and as a group. The guys also touch on some of the relevant news this week.
All three of the guys have been playing WoW for a very long time now, some as long as the beta stages of Vanilla. Each one of the guys have their own unique way in which they view the game and a methodology to their approach to raiding.
Inside a Progression Raid:
The guys dive into progression raiding for both themselves and the group. Each one has a different way they tackle their respective raid roles. Ryan and Dan, who are both officers talk about the responsibilities they deal with inside a raid. Everything from strat adjustments, loot distribution, and keeping the group on track to ensure the best chance at success inside of the raid. Cole on the other hand talks about how it is important to maintain focus but keep things lighthearted and fun. All three of the guys each talk about how it is important to do your best to keep things fun but keep the friction down by avoiding an over abundance of messing around, cluttering voice comms at important times, and not providing input when working on progression. It is important that all raiders feel like they have a voice and do their best to maintain a high level of constructive feedback. It is also discussed that it is important to understand that progression raiding may not always seem fun and while it certainly does come with more headaches than casual raiding, if all players involved can stay on the same page of focus and keep the desire to be there alive, progression raiding can be extremely rewarding.
As the guys wind down the conversation they take a small amount of time to discuss the news that Serenity has decided to hang on and keep the guild alive with what members are left. A Wildstar guild makes the jump over to WoW with the claim that they will be competing in the World first race. Also hitting the news this week is the changes to Concordance of the Legionfall.
Thank you so much for listening. We certainly hope you found our banter worth while to listen to. This has been an idea for quite some time now and we are super excited to be able to make this happen. We don't know what the future holds but a lot of that is dependent on you the listeners. Any feedback you all can give us will be more than appreciated. Again, thank you for listening and we will talk to you in the next episode.
